Fuelling Women Champions

Womens Rugby Canada

Canada’s Dairy Farmers new initiative, Fuelling Women Champions, is very proud be a partner of Rugby Canada and with them, witness and bring to life the first Women’s Rugby 7’s series in Canada. The two-day series served as a means for the international 12 teams that took part to qualify for the RIO 2016 Olympic Games.

In preparation for the weekend and to help inspire the next generation of female athletes, Fuelling Women Champions worked with the British Columbia High School Rugby Association to host a Q&A with Jen Kish, and Magali Harvey, two incredibly successful Canadian rugby 7s stars. The pair inspired and excited nearly 200 attendees with compelling stories and then signed autographs and had photos taken with the young athletes.

Fuelling Women Champions placed advertisements in local newspapers and on local radio stations to generate awareness of women’s rugby and drive attendance to the what was an extremely successful event.  Furthermore, to grow the fandom of women’s sport, Fuelling Women Champions provided 400 tickets to the local community, filling the stands and creating heightened exposure of the ground breaking event, and the incredible rugby action that was witnessed by more than 6,000 cheering fans.

During the Canada Women’s Sevens, Feeling Women Champions was on-site, helping keep the energy levels high by providing fans with cheer merchandise and the opportunity to win 10 signed Rugby Canada jerseys through a fun Twitter contest. To truly generate excitement of the women’s rugby event, Canada’s Dairy Farmers, through Fuelling Women Champions, facilitated the online and television broadcast to the nation via TSN showcasing the incredible talents of the women’s rugby sevens’ stars!
